Prince Charming

last night, a guy at The Hive told me i look like Princess Diana.
i doubt Diana made as much of a mess of herself as i did.

No Napping Allowed

it astounds me what my generation are doing.

i have to work on getting my sleeping pattern back to normal. no more 11am starts and 6am finishes with 4 hour mid-afternoon blackouts.
i just finished a 2000 word essay on gaelic poetry and my braincells have never been more scrambled. this weekend will make up for it, or else.
Peaches Geldof and PPQ - from the looks of things, i like it. i remember reading her column in ElleGirl (may it rest in peace) and then seeing her last year on Brick Lane and being really weirded out by the moment.

p.s. learn to love yourself more

Charity Case

for the last few weeks, i've been volunteering at Barnardo's Vintage, a charity shop selling the most amazing clothes. i love it, the two managers are so nice and i've already bought some beautiful things; a feather mask and a pie crust collared/cuffed dress - it needs about six inches chopping off but my oh my, what a garment.
all for a good cause - and i get discount, which i did not expect at all. i still need to find some barwork or waitressing because volunteering can't pay for all the clothes i want to buy. but i'd rather be working there for free than anywhere else.

MIA

my life currently consists very abstract things...
roaming around my room in the middle of the night and keeping my flatmates awake with 4am Nada Surf revivals (the insomniac's choice being currently tied between "blonde on blonde" and "your legs grow");
lying in until the afternoon;
buying, weeks and weeks in advance, train tickets and the budgeting that follows this;
sending out late letters to the four corners;
not eating well enough, and then making up for it with occasional over-kill meals;
early hour phonecalls with drunk associates;
writing essays on: gaelic poetry...the economic, ideological, social and technological advances made by neanderthals...and a personal study into a specific practice of divination;
missing home.

i can't remember the last time i wore an outfit i actually liked, which makes me angry.

Eclecticism

"to travel through the world, it is necessary to have
the mouth of a hog,

the legs of a stag,

the eyes of a falcon,

the ears of an ass,

the shoulders of a camel,

and the face of an ape,

and, overplus, a satchel full of money and patience."

- anon
all from the street walker

Sarah Illenberger

how nice it would be to not exist. never to go shopping again, or to wait around for other people to take their washing out of the machine. no more reading trashy magazines because you got confused by their bright shiny covers, no more obnoxious encounters with people you'd rather remained in the cesspit they crawled from.

to have lecturers demand essays from you, only to find themselves remonstrating with a prostrate pile of clothes on the floor. to be vapour, air, motes of dust, a ringing in someone's ear, a vacuum of nothingness.

BUT
i think not existing would probably get in the way of my plans to rule the world. pity, that.
